I had the pleasure of not only attending the Ideal Home Show at Exhibition Park on Friday evening but also volunteering at the Real Estate HomeGuide booth on Saturday for the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® promoting the new Real Estate HOMEGUIDE site/print version as well as promoting the value of a REALTOR®.
On Friday evening I arrived at just the right time to be a patron in the show as it was suppertime and it wasn’t too busy. It was the perfect time to be making rounds and doing some networking as exhibitors were not too busy with other patrons. It took us about an hour and a half to make our rounds and see everything. It seemed like most exhibitors were there to promote themselves to people looking to take advantage of the home renovation tax credit of up to $1350. This included many many siding, windows, doors, roofing, and kitchen retailers.
After showing properties most of the day on Saturday I grabbed a quick lunch at the Chickenburger and headed to the show again for my 4-6 shift at the HOMEGUIDE booth. When I got there I was amazed at how many people were there! I had to park almost a kilometer away from the front doors! I must have given out 250 HOMEGUIDES in that 2 hour period and showed 4 people how to use the new nshomeguide.ca site to find the most recent 7 days of MLS listings. It was a good experience but I was pretty tired afterwards and was happy to be headed home.
If you got a chance to attend the show I’m sure you enjoyed it. If not you should definitely think about going next year. I think the team will have a booth at the show. Hope to see you next year!
